How do you handle accounts requiring two signatures in this day and age of not checking signatures on accounts?

Anything required different on documents when opening such accounts?

Our customers know that we are not liable if a check only has one signature.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I know this was discussed a couple of weeks ago. They may have them sign a different document stating that fact.

We include this as part of our New Account Agreement.

RESTRICTIVE LEGENDS
"Bank Name" - shall not be liable for payment of any check contrary to a restrictive legend, inscription, message, requirement or other limitation contained in or on the check unless the bank has specfically agreed in writing to the restrictions or limitations.

And we do not agree, in writing, anything to anyone.

Searching on "two signatures required" will yield similar discussions. You could consider preventing them or mitigating liability for them in your deposit agreement. Here is one way.

Options:
1) Refuse to do it.
2) Agree to do it, do it, and charge like crazy.
3) Allow the customer to use the practice as an internal control in their organization, but get express written agreement that the bank is not responsible for verifying multiple signatures.
