We were contacted by a borrower that they have moved their mobile home from one location to another. They weren't supposed to do that without prior lender approval, but Do we need to complete a new determination? I'm thinking since we know it's moved, the answer is yes. If it comes back that the new location is in a flood zone, I'm assuming we treat it the same as a property that is new to a flood zone after a flood map change?

Yes, you are correct. Anytime you become aware of a change of location for your manufactured home collateral, you are obligated to perform a new flood determination and if now located in a SFHA, contact the borrower to notify them of that fact. You also need to get them to sign a Flood Notice and let them know what amount of flood insurance you will require them to have in place. You can also let them know that if they do not provide you with the proper confirmation of flood insurance in the correct amount within 45 days of this notification, you will force-place it and add the premium to their note.
