For the small price of your soul, or two or so bucks extra, Hulu+ offers a no commercials option. Worth every penny IMO. Shows that are available on Hulu will usually be available to watch the day following the air date.
Edit: i think its 8 George Washingtons for regular Hulu+ and 12 for the non commercial variety.
No, i am not getting paid to promote Hulu.
Thanks for the info. I will definitely look into Hulu+. It sounds like it offers the on-demand, commercial-free features I am looking for. And if shows are available within a day after the original air date, that's definitely reasonable. Add to my signal issues when the weather is anything but sunny and clear, my DirecTV system is getting slow to start up and respond. Also, it reminds me almost every day that my main DVR is not connected to the internet. The only responses are "Connect Now" and "Remind Me Later". How about "STOP NOTIFYING ME, I GET IT!"? Perhaps if they had been present-thinking they would have built wifi into that model or given me a model with wifi. I am not going to run a network cable from my living room to the office where the router is located. And I am not going to pay them more for the wireless connection kit.
