our customer J Smith wrote an onus check for $10,500 to Brenda Barbie who is not a customer of ours... Brenda brings in the check to cash ... we need to complete a CTR... only Brenda's information goes in 'person involved in transaction' 4A field..is this correct.. we do not also need to reference our customer as they are not benefiting form the transaction.

Correct. The only information on your customer will be the account number on which the negotiable instrument is drawn, but they would not be 'named' in the transaction.
