I am working on my 2016 compliance training schedule. I use an online training provider. As I am going through the catalog, I feel I pick the same courses over and over. Examiners love the training and seems to be effective but just seems tedious and redundant. In addition to the online, I do attend department meetings for some in person training.

Anyone have any other ideas to spice up our training?

Variety is the spice of life!

If your training is working, that's the big thing, but if you keep rolling out the same content it's virtual punishment for those doing the pointing and clicking. Look at the segments you believe to be critical, particularly those that have not changed and replace them (this year) with live segments about how things are done within your bank; e.g. if you have a teller segment about cashing checks then make up a training segment about the procedures for cashing a check in your bank.

Agree with Ken. Also look to see when your contract ends. Perhaps a switch to a new vendor may give some variation.

Thanks for your suggestions! I will assign the normal courses along with some new ones. I will also supplement with some in person training as well.

Our contract is for another 2 years so maybe then I will look new options.

Thanks for your suggestions!

Question.

I'm new to setting up training, are there courses that employees are required to take each year?

tedious and redundant are not effective even if the examiners say so.
