The FFIEC announced upcoming cybersecurity assessments for community banks this week. The official announcement is at https://www.ffiec.gov/press/pr050714.htm and some good detail at http://www.ballardspahr.com/alertspublic...stitutions.aspx although it only applies to New York FIs.

Any ideas on what to expect or how to plan for these?

Is this assessment tool supposed to be editable? I'm pulling up the tool on the ffiec website, and I'm unable to make changes to it. How do we get the graphing in regards to the risk/maturity relationship for management?

What the FFIEC released (https://www.ffiec.gov/cyberassessmenttool.htm) is only PDF documents, not an editable tool. Someone created a spreadsheet immediately after the assessment was release - if you email me at rhorn@conetrix.com, I will send it to you. In addition, several companies have created online tools to help institutions complete the FFIEC CyberSecurity Assessment - here is a link to one that is free ( www.conetrix.com/Tandem#Cybersecurity) but there are others that are free or paid.
