Make sure you give her plenty of love. I'm glad it went well.

Ouch and so glad she is doing better!
I have two foster chiweenies right now. One 11 week boy and one 10 month girl. Kill me now. We've had them for 2 1/2 weeks and will have them till Monday, when they go to spay/neuter surgery and then on to permanent homes.
I'm never ever going to foster again because I either want to keep them all or I want to pick their new owner. I've already severed myself from all but one dog site on FB. I'm still on the one related to these fosters.
Half the cure is admitting I have a problem, right?

That's why I can't foster. For me it would be a very short trip into hoarder-ville.

For whatever reason, our dog's have decided they don't like their dog food anymore.
They act like they are starving all the time, but won't touch their food.
I am thinking of going back to Taste of the Wild, they did really well on it, but it is so expensive, so we switched to Diamond (Made by the same company) had similar ingredients.
They have been fine with it for year, but now they don't like it.
What foods do you find your dogs like that are good for them, help minimize shedding, etc.

You might just have a bad bag, or they might have changed the formula and there's something about the the dogs don't like now. I've had both happen before.
Our mutts eat 4 Health. The heeler mix gets ear infections if we feed her anything with corn in it, and this was the cheapest decent-quality corn-free kibble we've been able to find.

My rescue beagle/hound dog eats either Rachel Ray's dog food (had previously read this was one of the better "cheap" brands) or another brand I can't think of.....something all natural. Sometimes I make a mixture of cooked chicken, hard boiled eggs, and rice to mix in with the dry food which makes her coat much softer.
I keep hearing if a little brewer's yeast is mixed in with their food it significantly reduces shedding. Haven't tried it yet though.

We buy a brand carried by Tractor Supply... I will have to look at the bad to tell you brand name. It was recommended by a friend and it has very few ingredients and not the fillers like a lot of dog foods - and it's fairly inexpensive too.

Hmmmm - some of these comments are making me wonder if one of our dog's issues (ear, coughing, skin) are allergy related. Wonder if I should trying something different.

Some of the 'natural' varieties occasionally have an issue with mold developing if they aren't kept dry or even if they are exposed to high humidity levels for an extended time - that was the issue when our sons dogs suddenly refused to eat theirs.

We feed the cat and the dog Taste of the Wildâ„¢ food (cat and dog formulas of course). They seem to be doing great on it and really dig into it. It was sticker shock at first, but feeding them the recommended amounts and factoring in their health since switching, it is worth it.

Tractor Supply's brand - 4 Health Healthy Weight I have one dog, however, that is a foodie...he guards the food...he licks the food...he lays down where the bowl is protected...and moves to another bowl once his is empty. It's very annoying...and he's fat...and it sometimes gets dangerous when one of the other ones challenges him.

Our beagle mix gets one half cup of food in the morning and another half cup when I get home from work. She knows exactly when it's dinner time and will use her claws to hit her metal bowl and "Ring the dinner bell". She will eat it so fast that she will sometimes make herself sick. I've started putting half of it in the bowl and then waiting 5 minutes to put the rest in. If I were to make sure there was food in her bowl all the time, she would not be able to walk and I would be bankrupt.
The cat on the other hand has food all the time (out of reach of the dog). He will let me know when the bowl is empty. If it is during waking hours he becomes very cuddly - that's how I know his bowl is empty. At night, he will wake me up by tapping my shoulder or the middle of my back with his front claw. Generally after I fill the bowl he doesn't eat - it's not about being hungry, it's just that the bowl is empty.

We buy 4Health grain free from Tractor Supply. My pitbull has sensitive skin, allergies, and gets yeast infections between his toes. He also takes 3 probiotics daily.
Cats eat Purina in the blue bag. No issues there.
One eyed kitty is doing well. Stitches come out on the 11th. I sleep in a room with her everynight and I take the cone off. She is doing good. Looks a little funny. She is a bit timid of the other pets. It didn't help when the dog chased her the first time I had her out of 'her' room.

Thomas my cat is the same way. She will wake me up at night by sticking her cold nose somewhere on my face or neck. Then when I feed her she just looks at me. She also will not drink water out of a bowl. She insists on drinking it out of the bathroom faucet.

The cat eats one "cat food", Meow Mix, nothing else, no canned foods, no treats. The only human foods she eats are Yogurt or Ice Cream. That's it.
She too, just fill the bowl once a week, she let's you know when it is empty. She drink the bathroom faucet every morning, out of the bowl rest of the time.
We tried the 4 Health once, I think they shed a lot when we were feeding it. Not sure if it was the grain free, maybe will give it a try before going back to the Taste of Wild.
