Just found out the airline moved the first leg of my flight UP by 3 hours and the second leg BACK by 3 hours so now I have a 7 hour layover in Atlanta. Guess I should have time to get to my next gate without running. mad cry

Oh boy - 7 hours in the Atlanta airport. What a wonderful day you'll have.

What are your arrival and departure times from Atlanta? My flight leaves Atlanta at 9:45 - maybe we could get together for breakfast.

That said, I think I'd be on the phone with customer service at whichever airlines is taking you from a 1hr layover to a 7hr layover and letting them know that this is not acceptable and that you'd like for them to consider allowing you to reschedule to a different itinerary without penalty. May not do any good, but I'd sure get some venting in.

Way, way south.
I've never flown a red-eye flight but they are apparently the only ones available to get me there and back at reasonable arrival times. How bad is it?

You are here
not to bad if you do not mind being awake while the entire plane sans crew is sleeping.

Doodle, may I suggest getting a quarter and some glue, glue the quarter to the ground or a table, and then sit back and enjoy the hours of entertainment laugh

Well DD I wont have to try your entertainment trick - just called Delta and got the second leg of the trip moved up so now I just have less than an hour between flights. And no charge for that change. Still have to leave home super early (have a 1 1/2 drive to airport) but at least I don't have to sit around in an airport all day. Did that once in Philly airport and not something I care to do again.

Awesome! We may get into San Diego around the same time. I'm assuming your flight from Atlanta is direct to San Diego. Mine has a stop in Phoenix. I arrive at 1:55pm in San Diego. If you're around the same time, maybe we can share a cab.

I am supposed to arrive in San Diego at 12:04 but this is the third time my times/flights have changed since I booked so its bound to change more before June. Will keep you posted though. Now that I am getting in early I am thinking about what to do in the afternoon/evening.

I am registered, but haven't bought my flight yet. I've looked at them but have held off a bit hoping they come down in cost. We DO have non-stop flights out of Detroit, so that is a GOOD thing!

I'd think you'd want the flight to stop at some point, Tink.

I'd love to meet all the BOLers there. I'm speaking in concurrent sessions 1&2 on CRA and Fair Lending integration - come introduce yourself.

I've got my ticket and reservations, so I'm heading out on Saturday (but not going to the Saturday sessions), so hopefully I'll meet some of you all there.

Just checked in to see who is attending. I will be there although I dread the long flight. I just got back from California.

I am going too. I have only missed one conference since 1994. I have met a lot of great people and we always have a lot of fun, but we go to all the classes too (I do not attend the power breakfasts -- I am not a morning person). I usually fly out on Saturday and my biggest problem is traffic. I live in Queens, and that day is always the Belmont Stakes day and I have to go past the racetrack to get to JFK. However, this year, when my associate made the arrangements she booked a very early (for me) flight so we will miss the traffic (yea -- except I will be miserable). We get to San Diego at 11:30am.
