From a reputational risk from the bank's perspective, yes there is something very wrong if the family member is the realtor in the transaction. Most codes of conduct do not allow employees to engage in business transactions that also involve immediate family in any way. If the relative is not the realtor in the specific situation, I see no harm in it. That is how you build business - family or not.
