Way, way south.
Anyone been on a European/Mediterranean/ Cruise?

Thinking of scheduling one next year but not sure where to start.

My sister and her husband went on a cruise in the Baltic a few years ago (after hiking in the Alps and visiting Germany). I'm pretty sure she booked everything herself but I can ask her what cruise line they used and other information that might be helpful if you'd like.

Some of my in-laws have done the Viking River Cruises through Europe a few times. They really enjoy them. Unfortunately, they keep coming back home.

I'm sure a ton of people have gone on these, because they keep offering them. as you learned in business school about supply and demand, as long as there remains a demand there is a supply.

now, if you are asking if I've ever been on one personally, the answer is no...

where to start? a simple google search on "European crusies" presented "About 4,350,000 results (0.52 seconds) "

that should keep you busy for a while

Yeah, I looked at a cruise vacation website I usually use for the Caribbean but as you state Hap, there are so many options I just got lost. Was hoping someone on here had some experience (good ones, bad ones, good ships/lines, bad ones, etc.).

I appreciate any info you can share Sarah, thanks.

Somewhere in the middle
I have not, but a good friend who is a State Farm agent has won 2 through his work. He really enjoyed the trips. Went once with just his wife and second time took his whole family (3 kids 21,18,16). Loved the weather, scenery and food. Big history buff, like me, said all the Greek and Roman architect was really cool to see live and not just in books.

Took a Holland America from Venice to Barcelona,. AMAZING!

http://www.hollandamerica.com/find-cruis...eCode=D661&

It was exhausting - we had excursions every port.
Venice - WOW
Dubrovnic - old europe - churches, roads, etc before Columbus discovered us
Corfu - Greek Island -
Naples - included Pompeii - it is an amazing city
Rome - some of the best photos on the trip. Ruins - same as in the history books. St Peters and Vatican City - visited with 80,000 of our closest friends. The Vatican IS a museum!
Pisa - it leans! It is actually the bell tower - the church is gilded!
Monte Carlo - What ever you want to say about the rich and famous. Look at the Bond movie Casino Royale for the inside. Tiger Woods yacht was docked 2 ships away from ours.
Toulon - new - our stop was Merceilles (it was blah - glad they changed)
Barcelona - would go back in a heartbeat.

If you smiled, they all spoke English.

I talked to my sister. She booked their Baltic cruise through Princess. They loved it and had a very good time. She said she would highly recommend spending the extra money to get a mini suite.
