Tips and tricks for not passing out on the keyboard at 3pm? I assume most of us here are in some form of audit/compliance. Add a detailed line by line review of a HELOC disclosure to the fact that it is 3pm and I approach comatose status.

What do you do?

Coffee?
Trail mix?
Shady looking lady comes by with Vitamin B shots?
Intravenous vitamin cocktail?

Table it to the morning when your brain is fresh? Other than that - I usually go the long way to the break room and refill my water, find a quick distraction (like reading an article in the newspaper if it's there - while standing!) and take an even longer way back to my desk.

Like others it is the long walk to the filtered water machine and possible I will member to take my afternoon break and walk outside. But with weather as it has been that is not always helpful and the heat and humidity can make you even more tired.

Close the door to your office and curl up under your desk for a 90 minute nap. When you wake up it will be 4:30 and you will be refreshed for that last 30 minutes before quitting time.

I go make a hot cup of tea around 3:00 pm every day. Have to get up and move and the tea has enough caffeine to get me going but not enough to make me lose sleep at night.

I usually try to a non-work related conversation with co-workers for a few minutes. Sports, weather, news, weekend plans, etc. It really helps.

Drink a 5-Hour Energy (that little 1 oz bottle with caffeine equivalent to a cup of coffee, some B vitamins and other ingredients). Unless you're super sensitive to stuff like that, it really works. It's the best thing I have found for highway driving drowsiness, which feels like drugged drowsiness to me. I am a performing member of four community orchestras. The difference in my performance, alertness and concentration between not having a 5-hour and having one, is marked. OR....try a nice big icy glass of your favorite flavor of Advocare Spark. I have green apple right now....delicious.
