Question,
We have a customer who is overdrawn. He is receiving paper drafts that state NSF fee from merchants whose checks we've returned. We are charging NSF fees and returning the paper draft. It seems a little weird to charge an NSF fee for an item that says its an NSF fee. What do you think about this?

My recollection is that a merchant can post a notice indicating that if an item is returned it can be resubmitted electronically and a charge may be imposed. However, the charge cannot be submitted as an electronic item.

The customer owes the merchant a fee. The customer owes you a fee. The customer is supplying the nails for his own crucifixion.
