That's not redlining. Redlining would have to be staying away from a Fair Lending (Low/mod income) area on purpose.

Yup. Don't want no stinkin branches south of the line. Lending there is okay. And for the record - I'm north of San Francisco - trust me, the further south you go, the higher the income goes! SO not worried about redlining issues there!

Apparently what they were thinking is that our servicemembers are illiterate.

We did have a discussion as to whether the disclosures would be better understood if we put our faces one inch from the servicemember, screamed the disclosure, and required them to yell, "Sir, Yes Sir!" after each sentence.

You're all so welcome. Please note I am not responsible for liquid damage to computer screens or looks from coworkers questioning your mental health.

Actually my interpretive dance for this whole week is just me moonwalking out the door in one hour with 1 finger on each hand sticking up!

Yes! Every transaction is a scene from Full Metal Jacket. "Are these terms acceptable to you, maggot? Then sign here, you miserable puke!" laugh

Why can't every weekend be 3 days long?

They can. Just don't go to work on Mondays. Eventually those three day weekends will turn into seven day weekends.

^ This. My old bank went to every other Friday off, which isn't too bad. They do 9 hour work days for 8 days then one 8 hour day the second Thursday and then the next Friday off to get their 80 hours in for two weeks. I don't mind that at all.

At my bank, I work 10+ hours a day 5 days a week every week and the occasional Saturday to catch up. I also get to come in at random times in the middle of the night to address issues with alarms, doors, and occasionally plumbing. Yes, I'm living the dream.

Wow thomasj you are me 20 years ago.
I once got a "big buck" award for working 38 hours in just 2 days back then.
Now days I have a much more balanced life with a strong effort to not go over 40 hours in a given week.
The job I almost took at a cr3d1t un10n would have put me at just 38 hours a week. But that was really it's only draw.

I think a great company sees value in their workers not killing themselves. There is value in a rested and balanced home-life.

What the HECK is THIS? I work just as hard at 'home' as I do here...certainly more physical work. Life on the 'ranch' in the swamp keeps one very, very busy. smirk

I've still got over 3 weeks of vacation left for the year. I have no idea how I am going to squeeze it in, every time I think about taking a week or even a day off, I look at my calendar and can't make it happen. Some things need to change for sure. By the time I get home at the end of the day, I am too fried to do much of anything else. I need to reassess some priorities for sure. Hunting season is approaching so I may be disconnecting a bit and spending some time in the woods.

There is no need for that type of language around here.

I hear you about taking time off, I am the only compliance officer for a 800m bank, but I learned a long time ago the work will still be here when I get back. I do my best to have as much caught up when I go and don't look back.

Sorry, it's not a bad a dream. Yes, the summer is really over, Labor Day weekend is behind us, and you are back to your soul-sucking, dreary, tortuous dead-end job...
