We are beginning to see more consumer statement on our credit reports. They are "generic". For example - Consumer Statement: Do Not Confuse with Consumers of similar identification; verify all identifying information.

there is no contact information given in these statements. We are treating them as "fraud alerts" that need to be cleared in order to proceed with our mortgage loan, but this is difficult given no contract telephone number being provide.

I would appreciate knowing how others are handling these. Thanks

I really don't think this is a consumer's statement. I think the CBs put this alert on customers automatically that have previously disputed accounts. As long as you follow your CIP procedures and ensure this is correct person, I think you are fine. If you have questions, I would be calling my credit bureau representative.
