We have Vudu for movie rentals - no monthly fees. You can purchase or rent movies and TV series digitally and access them over the internet. The movies are available for purchase usually when they are released on DVD and usually available to rent a few weeks later. We can access it through our smart TV or DVD player, but normally we access it on a tablet and cast it to the TV via Chrome Cast.

We have Netflix. I rarely watch movies in it but really enjoy Netflix Original shows.

My husband also purchases or gets free movies/tv shoes from Amazon Video. If you're an Amazon Prime member there are lots of free ones. He can buy a series as it's on and we can watch an episode the next day. We used to buy movies A LOT, but rarely do now. It certainly takes up less space.

thanks for the Netflix vs. Hulu discussion - except you, Ed (ha).

I saw Why Him, as well. While I don't consider myself a prude, the language was a bit much. Other than that, I thought it was hilarious. I'm still laughing about it.

I've used Redbox in the past, but now that the online streaming movies and online retailers lock up access to movies for longer periods, many of those I want to see don't hit Redbox until the point they are about to come on TV...

I loved La La Land. I'm also a big fan of musicals. The songs were catchy and I thought Ryan and Emma did a great job.

Rogue One - entertaining...thought plot development was a tad off at times, with big gaps...some additional character development was needed...not the best Star Wars flick ive seen, but hey, Hayden Christiansen wasn't in it, so that makes me happy...my poor nephew was lost at times

Please tell me what you think of Hidden Figures, Dazed. That one looks very interesting, although we'll probably wait until it's on Amazon Video or something.

Just saw this new movie with Harrison Ford (Air Force One). Glenn Close was awful.

Hidden Figures was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. The audience applauded at the end.

I went to see split with a friend on Tuesday. Really good, but has some rather dark moments. It was interesting to talk to my friend afterwards because he has two sisters who had/have DID. Apparently the movie was fairly accurate, though taken to hyperbole.

Same at my theater! Such a great movie. We took our almost 10-year-old son too, and he had so many questions afterward that led to good conversation. He was equally impressed by the women's mathematical genius, and appalled at their treatment. He asked "what's segregation"? I'm glad that's such an odd concept for him, but it's so important for young generations to see stories like this, to ensure history never repeats itself!

Hidden Figures was a "feel good" movie and I enjoyed it.

The lack of thought they put into the old cars became a distraction; there really weren't many "tricked out" 55 - 57 Chevy's in 1961, but there were several in the movie.

I really enjoyed Hidden Figures. I'm amazed I never knew about the role these women played in the space program. I watch all those Mercury launches in school, and I thought I was fairly well informed about the space program, and I can't believe it took this long for this story to come to light.

I also found myself on the edge of my seat as John Glenn re-entered the earth's atmosphere. I knew darn well what was going to happen, but the film did a great job of re-creating the tension we all felt year's ago.

I saw La La Land over the weekend. Musicals aren't for everybody, but if you like them at all, you have to see this one. Amazing performance by Emma Stone. And the cinematography is just beautiful.
