Is anyone familiar with the upcoming requirements from MasterCard about banks being required to offer their customers something that allows the customer to set up transaction alerts on their MasterCard debit card? Our card processor is trying to sell us a product so we can be in compliance with these new requirements. I'm just wondering if anyone else is utilizing something else that may be a cheaper alternative. Thank you.

Issuers may build their own email and text alerts service, offer one from their transaction processor, or use the platform provided by each of the card networks.

Sounds like you should explore your options and conduct a cost benefit analysis.

yes we will be using SecureLockEquip (from FIS), which satisfies the mandates. It was easier & more cost effective than doing it ourselves.

By offering the infromation and link to the Master Card website to enroll in the Identity Theft Alerts , are we satisfying the mandates?

You have to make arrangements with MasterCard to do this--It is my understanding that they charge a monthly fee to the issuer for this service.
