While a Baby Boomer’s ‘You’re welcome’ in contrast, says something miles different, it actually highlights the fact that the person went out of their way to help someone; almost brings attention to it in a way, saying 'Yeah, I helped you, I did you this favor I accept your thanks.’ which, malicious intent or not, is strikingly different than the millennial downplay of their act of kindness for the sake of helping someone.[/i]
I wonder if that is part of the thought of Chik-fil-a using 'my pleasure' more often in lieu of the traditional, 'you're welcome'.

"You're welcome" has always sounded just a little bit smug to me. I usually reply to a "thank you" with a simple "yes ma'am" or "yes sir," but have been known to use "no problem," as well.

I think some people are too uptight about some innocent slang or innocent regional phrases
as long as someone doesn't say 'get bent' when I thank them for holding the door, I'm good with 'sure' or 'no problem'

WTFagoli? of course you're here, I'm talking to you... That's when you restate the question "How are you today, not where are you. Maybe it is a form of the response I hear from the elderly, "Well I'm on this side of the grass so I guess that's good. When I've used "I'm here" in the past, it was basically a polite way of saying "Things are pretty terrible overall and being here makes me miserable, but I'm here". But that's just me. I'd imagine almost everyone who says it is not doing well at that time, but it's easier to say "I'm here" than go into it.

I just tried the quote v.s. quick quote and similar principle, if you us the quote it doesn't actually quote it so I'm thinking you would have to copy and paste (unless I'm doing something wrong)
