Borryer

I just had an entire conversation with a coworker about a situation with one of our 'borryers.' If she said it once, she said it fifteen times. It was all I could do not to shake her and scream. crazy

'I seen it' - and the mis-use/overuse of 'actually' and 'literally'.

'already' and 'earlier' actually seems redundant. Obviously, you seen it already if you seen it earlier.

When I used to have to renew library books in person, there was one librarian who, when I said "I would like to renew this book," would always reply "only if no one else has requested it." I always wanted to say, I want to whether anyone else has requested it or not - but I understand that you won't let me if someone has requested it."

The use of "withdrawal" as a verb. "I would like to withdrawal some money from my savings account." No, you would like to withdraw some. At least I am far enough away from a teller line now that I don't have to hear this anymore!

Way, way south.
Using "of" instead of "have" or the contraction of "have" used incorrectly.

I see this all the time, "...we would of gone to the movies but we didn't have money" instead of "...we would've gone to the movies but we didn't have money" and it drives me nuts.

Almost the entirety of this thread could easily go under a "1st world only issues" posting.
We bankers seem to have nothing better to get offended by it seems (did you catch that one ^_^)

My Indiana comes out some times and I ask some one to borrow me their pen and I see their eyes pop. Now it is hard not to say it that way as I enjoy the over reactions so much.

In a business class at the university I attended I once sat through a ten minute presentation by a fellow student on the concept of shifting paradigms, it's too bad she pronounced it "pair-a-dig-ums". That was awkward!

Seeking, yeah, that would be a little weird. Kind of like my first speech class in college where my classmate was doing a reading exercise in front of the class by reading a public health announcement regarding safe $ex, and pronouncing one of the key words of the statement as pen-us instead of the normal way that word is pronounced. That was probably just as awkward.
