We have an application for a home loan from someone who recently filed for divorce. The divorce is not final. What is the best way to handle an application for this type of situation? Since they are still legally married we need to consider all debts from both spouses since we don't have anything from the court stating otherwise. So we'll need to pull credit on the non-signing spouse, correct?

We always encourage our applicants to speak with their divorce attorney prior to applying but if they are in your office ready to apply then I just want to make sure we proceed correctly.
