Has anyone had any experience with free trade agreement for a mortgage loan? Can we close a loan without the spouse being on the Deed without a copy of the free trade agreement?? The borrower is refusing to give us a copy to confirm there is an agreement in place.

Thanks.

The only free trade agreement I have heard of was for tariffs between countries. Peony, might it be a state law?

Yes, I meant to say 'trader' instead of 'trade.' So far, it looks like it's a state law in NC.

After reading up on it, my guts say that we should have a copy of the agreement to show that our lien will have priority over any outstanding marital interest in case of foreclosure.
