Crosby Stills Nash and/or Young (It was billed this way since Young was due to get out of prison and David Crosby was in court and might end up serving time for drugs. (It ended up Crosby Stills and Nash).
I don't remember anything about Neil Young doing time. When was this?

Don, you're not any older than me. My top five: Jimi Hendrix (1968, I think) Janis Joplin (1967, maybe) Led Zeppelin (I never spell that right, about 1968)) Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention (in a very small basement room with about 10 other people, probably 1963) and the odd man out... Barry Manilow (about 1982!) He puts on a great show!!

The worst: an Allen Ginsberg harmonium concert (didn't get it - guess you had to be stoned. I walked out) 1971
I would have guessed you had to be stoned to buy a ticket.

Judas Priest/Barenaked Ladies (it's a tie)
At first, I thought you meant Judas Priest opened a BNL concert.
Z, that made me literally laugh out loud, thanks!

2% Jazz, 98% Funky Stuff.
For whatever reason, Maceo loves playing Burlington (where I went to school). I think I saw him a total of five times while I was there. This particular show was in a small club, so there was only about 300 people there.
One of the great things about his group is the professionalism. They play their instruments very well and everyone is wearing a suit. Perhaps it is because I am old fashioned, but I just don't think class and excellent musicianship ever goes out of style (despite what Britney Spears is doing these days).

Back in my punk and ska days - I did see Green Day (1994?). The bands before them were much better.
I saw Dave Matthews a month ago. I'm not a hardcore Dave Matthews fan (or freak, as I call them) - but it was a really good live show.
My favorite, which also happens to be my favorite band, is 311. I've seen them 7 times now. They are awesome live.

Z, I am SO jealous!! The closest I got to that tour was the Red Rocks video which I've just about worn out!
It was quite a concert. Outdoors in Austin in the Summer. All the students were gone, so the crowd was small and we were close to the stage. It was general admission. The Alarm opened for them (their first American tour). The next night I saw the Blasters open for the B-52s.

As far as stage show, I would have to say Janet Jackson is one of the best out there. Other concerts I really enjoyed were:
Madonna Reba Beyonce/Missy Elliott/Alica Keys (ladies first tour) Cyndi Lauper Celine Dion in Vegas
