We are thinking of relocating to a retirement community in the central part of the state (Ocala area). In one of the descriptions, the brochure indicated that the Land Ownership is "Warranty Leasehold Estate Deed" rather than Quit Claim or Warranty Deed.

Has anyone heard of a Warranty Leasehold Estate Deed? It sounds like you buy the house and lease the land, and it may be a challenge to include the property in your "legacy". Another thought is the developer got the land under a long term lease, and at the end of the term, the property reverts to the owner or beneficiaries.

Any idea?

Thanks

If it's On Top of the World, it's my understanding that you don't buy the land your house sits on. It belongs to the company for 99 years.
