We are studying Psalms in our Sunday School class. One type of Psalm is called an "imprecatory" psalm - one that calls for God's righteous judgement on the wicked. Psalm 69 is an imprecatory psalm. Would that be on Psalms Sunday?

I looked up Psalm 69. It sounds appropriate for Louisiana for the next day or two.
Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.
I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

Speaking with my doctor friend I learned the term: manual disimpaction (you're going to have to look that one up on your own)

Then....there is the longest English word composed exclusively of vowels.
Euouae
This is a musical term from medieval times. It's an abbreviation used in Latin psalters and other liturgical books to show the distribution of syllables in the differentia or variable melodic endings of the standard Psalm tones of Gregorian chant.

You have no idea how many times I have used borborygmus since reading this thread. I take care of my elderly mother whose stomach is quite borborygmic!

I keep having to refer to swiggles post above just to be able to pronounce it. Good on you for using it.
My mother-out-law was visiting and she said she loved coming to our place because it is so bucolic and then I had to go look it up to know what she meant.
-relating to the pleasant aspects of the countryside and country life.

-relating to the pleasant aspects of the countryside and country life. I learned the meaning of that word back in the late 80's when living in Winston-Salem, NC. Ross Johnson, who had become CEO of RJ Reynolds, 15 days later, said he wanted to move the headquarters to Atlanta from Winston-Salem because W-S was "too bucolic". He earned the hatred of an entire city and region with that one word. People around town had "Honk if You're Bucolic" bumper stickers made up. They made a movie of that whole ordeal - Barbarians at the Gate. Ross Johnson was not favorably portrayed.
