East Ky. We were around 95% coverage. Could barely tell it got any darker....maybe compared to the earliest onset of dusk. Couldn't tell it had gotten any cooler.

Same here. Seemed like it got a little cooler.....but it didn't get darker like a thought it would.....this could be due to the thin cloud cover, however.

I did too. Tried to take a few pics, but even at it's peak the only thing it took was a bright ball of light.

Our skies are clear here. I wasn't expecting full dark, but I really thought that being in the .9 range would at least noticeably dim the light!

Well...it's back to a bright sun-shiny day in the Deep South. I've seen much darker eclipse's before. Would have thought it would have been more dramatic.

My husband summed it up as: "It was sunny, then not quite so sunny, then it was sunny again."

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
What's more exciting/interesting is that NASA says we're to have 2 weeks of darkness in November. Apparently two planets are going to be too close to each other and produce a gas that will interact with the sun and turn it blue. It's supposed to take 14 days to clear up.

I'm sure there are a few in the cooler that can clear gas in less than 14 days. Have you ever been in the bar during cheesy hash brown day?

Um, that's not really going to happen.

well, it got noticeably darker and cooler and quiet...and then it rained. So I didn't get to see the 99.7% at all because of full on cloud cover and rain.

However, I did watch one of NASA's live feeds shortly after and it was very cool to hear everyone on the video as it went to full totality.

I can't help but wonder what the ancients of old thought was going on when something like this occurred....long before our technology and incessant publicity of such events.

A friend of mine has two miniature donkeys. To make fun of those "protect your pets" posts, she put bras over their eyes and posted the pic on Facebook with the caption, "The girls are ready!"

That's funny, Becca.

Our skittish sheltie got really strange about 2 hours before the eclipse. Hid and wouldn't let us come near him (would run away). He's afraid of storms and I heard on the news that some animals felt the changes were approaching storms. After it was over he was back to his normal, albeit odd, self.
