Our borrower is looking at a private policy that includes a dwelling and "other structures". Their NFIP policies just expired and they did have separate policies for each shop, barn, shed, etc. The structures are used for ag purposes so the detached structure exemption doesn't apply. The "other structures" is an amount sufficient to cover the total of what we need. The agent is aware of the type of structures and they are covered. I wasn't sure if it was necessary to have a separate policy for each one. Just curious if anyone has come across a private policy like this yet. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Unlike the NFIP program that requires a separate policy for each structure, private policies are not limited to that requirement. As long as all the structures are covered and you have the minimal amount of insurance required, I have not seen a problem with it.
