Is that a mortal kombat code for the NES?

From my own little personal bubble of reality - that's a code for Contra on the NES. But I also know that this code was used about 100 million times - so it might have some relevance to Mortal Kombat, but whether or not it actually does...I wouldn't know.

Bacon flavored Ritz crackers. Yeah, that's a good idea.

I just figured it was one of the Fatality codes or something like that. I remember keeping a notebook next to the NES where we would write down codes. Thanks for the memory.

C'mon, Freak! We already covered this with Blade Scrapper's post about taking out a mortgage to go to Disney Land.

We kept our NES sitting on top of our notebook. Games codes, save codes, cheat codes, high scores......fun times.

Because I am a huge gamer nerd ... Mortal Kombat was never released to the NES it released for the SNES in '93. The code was known as the "konami code" and was found in several konami games (including gradius and contra).

I had the notebook next to the system(s) too. (now I use my laptop)

Somehow I have to doubt that your status as a gamer nerd affected Konami's decision not to release Mortal Kombat to the NES console.

Dang ... I have been telling people for years that's why they didn't realease it on the NES. I thought for sure!

NES - SNES - I had them both. Like I can remember which one I played which game on back in the early 1990s. (I also still have my N64 )

Mortal Kombat blood code was "Dullard" Down, Up, Left, Left, A, Right, Down. I have to look at my business cards to give out my direct phone line, but I haven't played in a decade at least and i still remember that.

That is pretty cool. The only code I can remember is the up up down down.....it was for 30 lives per continue in Contra.

Don't ask me why I remember this but in Commodore 64 basic programming the command "POKE 808,234" disables the RUN/STOP key.

Really - it's the random things that make life interesting.

Has a NES in the basement and I'm pretty sure Contra is in the box too. Probably right next to the Atari.

Yes, Mr. News Reporter, we can see it's raining. We don't need you to instruct us to 'look at this raindrop falling into the puddle.' sheesh!

In the news reporter's defense, many people in So Cal do not know what rain is. They certainly don't know how to drive in it.

Rain is that stuff that causes vegetation to grow and then die, providing nice, dry fuel for fire season.

Common sense is water soluble.

The first news report I saw was able to find the downside to the rains - catastrophic mudslides. I like the way they can make any story into an impending disaster.
