Well, last night and this morning I'm getting "Sorry, an error has occured. Please try again later. If the problem persists, contact HMDA Help." I guess that is better than it sitting in limbo. And yes, they spelled occurred wrong.
I also noticed the Check Digit Tool they released yesterday has display issues. The “Generate a check digit†option states “A valid LEI and Loan/Application ID has a minimum of 20 charactersâ€. LEIs are 20 characters long, and the loan ID would be a minimum of 1 character, so I would think the minimum is 21 characters. The “Validate a ULI†option appears to get this right by saying the ULI must be at least 23 characters. So the two options currently contradict each other. Not a big deal for most companies, but still wrong.
It is not very comforting that they are having these issues with what seem to be very simple tools that are being released at the 11th hour. These are websites that could probably be built by a fairly inexperienced coder in a few weeks. It doesn't bode well for the much more complex tools/platforms they are planning to release throughout 2018. I really feel they should have had everything relatively finalized and released (including the 2018 platform with edits) before we were required to collect the new data.
