Can someone tell me the process for reporting counterfeit checks? We've had a rash of them coming through with our routing number & our customer's account number but the printed name on the check is a totally different person. I'm not sure if we should report them to SWACHA or TeleCheck and if so, how it's done. I think the midwestern states report theirs to MPX. Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you for the info, Ken. The counterfeits that hit our bank are not official checks, just on a customer's account. I failed to mention that the bank name printed on the checks was not ours but another bank in another state. I thought that by reporting them to TeleCheck, it may prevent another merchant from getting burned.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
You should also notify the FDIC. They issue bulletins every week on counterfeit activity.
