There are 2 types of X zones. An X that is in a 500 year flood zone which would not be located in a SFHA and would not require flood insurance, and then there is an X that is shaded that borders between zones X and a SFHA zone that begins with an A or V that requires insurance. My question is about that zone X that is shaded. It is also considered a 500 year flood zone, and my question is if that is ALSO NOT considered to be located in a SFHA and would not require flood insurance.

Any property in Zone X is not in a SFHA. A Zone X that is shaded is in the 100-500 year flood plain. A Zone X that is unshaded is above the 500 year flood plain.
