Hi all,

Am I correct in interpreting this to mean that we can have a specific phone number or address for the reporting of disputes but we are not required to? Our normal customer service number is acceptable?

6. Notice at particular phone number or address. A financial institution may require the consumer to give notice only at the telephone number or address disclosed by the institution, provided the institution maintains reasonable procedures to refer the consumer to the specified telephone number or address if the consumer attempts to give notice to the institution in a different manner.

You are not required to make the customer call or write you at a specific phone number or address. The commentary that you are referencing permits you to do so if you disclose it (and have referral procedures), but the specific phone number/address is entirely optional.
