Would a building on wooded skids (able to be moved) be insurable for flood insurance?

A non-anchored building is not eligible for flood insurance. With that said - a non-anchored building is not allowed in a SFHA under local flood ordinances.

I think it depends on the building. A dwelling wouldn't be allowed, but I'm not so sure that applies to things such as Cook-type buildings that are made to be moveable. Of course, it would also not be insurable for that very reason wink

Thanks for the help. I'd never heard the example of building on skids so wanted to check.

RR - very true. I have seen ice fishing "shacks" up north that make my live room at home look like an igloo. They pull them out on to the lake with a tractor. It really depends on what they are talking about.

Yep...those too! And yes, some of those are unfreakingbelieable!

Good thing...I'm not so sure how in the world you could geo-code something like that! But wait...they're over 'water', so...not insurable either. laugh
