Running and riding everywhere ...
That sounds very nice as I get older! I've not been on my bike much lately and when I do ride, 10-15 miles is about it.

Bringing this back to the top because I need y'all!

I was bound and determined to get off the darn couch and make something happen this year. I joined an 80 Day Body Challenge, which started Jan 15th. My 80 day group meets and works out 6 days a week and Sundays are a day of rest. I am in day 17 of the challenge and day 18 of no soda of any kind and I'm slamming down the water. I am eat so much better already this year. Minimal pizza and burgers to date! More chicken, pork and veggies. Luckily my group is made up of 4 mature and voluptuous women that meet after work. We are getting each other thru this! I really don't think we could have survived this long with the 5 or 6 a.m. group of the way younger and extremely energetic crowd.

Anyone else have 2018 fitness challenges/goals they'd like to share?

Keep it up! This is awesome. Send some of those vibes my way... I'm on a 6 month plateau with my weight loss (but, at least I haven't gained any back).

I figure it didn't go on quickly, so I'm taking it off slowly - about a pound or 2 a month. I don't consider it a diet, just making subtle changes here and there that I can live with forever.

I'm burnt out on food. I think I need some new thoughts on veggies and such.

How about this? These are the things that food eats.

I'm generally not a recipe seeker. I tend to make things up on my own BUT I downloaded an app called Mealime on the recommendation of my cousin and I love it. There are tons of recipes to choose from. I selected 6 dinners I wanted to cook this week and the ingredients needed were automatically added to a shopping list categorized by store placement. The recipes are simple to make and fairly quick. It's not anything weird or hard to find/convince my kids to eat. I am very impressed.

I'll check into it. I'm just really burned out. I like to grill...but I hate shopping...it's a mixed bag of UGH.

Joker - I know you live in the swamp, but some grocery stores (Kroger, WalMart, etc.) have on-line shopping where they will gather your requests and bring it to your car. Do you live or work anywhere close to something like that?

Oh dear heavens I cannot imagine trusting a Walmart employee to choose my food. Can you imagine the condition of the produce you might end up with? eek

Actually a co-worker tried them and had been using Kroger. She said WalMart was MUCH better. While I don't shop there often, I think they are (at least locally) trying to step up their game.

One of the grocery stores in my small town has the online ordering for pick-up. I placed an order last Friday and had a head of cabbage on the list. I think they picked the biggest cabbage from the pile! It weighed almost 7 lbs!!!!! laugh

Re: online ordering
The only thing I do not like is that they do not check the produce for freshness or the meat for quality. IMO, using it for canned, paper and box items is OK.

Luckily I live in a small town and my gym is across the street from the grocery store, so I can run in there on my way home. I'm not a Walmart person. I don't have the patience for that place.

If you can "run" in why do you need the gym?

Amazon prime delivers fresh produce from Sprouts Farmers Market. Oh Yes, I do order from time to time when I just don't feel like going to the grocery store. It's fresh and delicious.

HRH Still in the 80 day program? How is it going? Does the 80 refer to workout days or just to the whole amount?

I am thinking about starting the Keto Diet. Has anyone else tried this? I have started drinking Shakeology again and don't know if it is Keto friendly or not. I am not a breakfast person so a shake is about all I can get down through the week. I try to cook breakfast on the weekends but it isn't Keto friendly. I love meat and salads so I think this diet might just work for me. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!

Claud I am on day 78 of 80 day workout. We workout 6 days a week and the 80 days counts just the workout days. We are off on Sundays and that day is not counted. I've signed up for Round 2 to do it again.
