What happened to my favorite thread? I was gone for several months on maternity leave, and now I can't find the motivational thread we had going on fitness, etc. I can't even think of the name of the thread. Maybe we can commence discussions on this topic after the holiday tomorrow.

Or search +weight +watchers in the non-business forums and you can find a lot of others.

Too big maybe? Or did someone misbehave and get it trashed?

Out of curiosity I went through some of Thomas' old posts from 2002 - 2006 and didn't see it. I would 'assume' it's been trashed, but I have no idea. My favorite part of the entire post were his before and after pictures.

I guess we have to start a new one and this is as good of place as any. Thanks for posting Christina!
I'm in the horrible place of "marathon taper" where my brain and body thinks its STARVING to death and yet in reality my miles are cutting back and I do not need to eat everything in sight. I'd love to have dropped 5 lbs before race day on 12/19 but didn't make it. I didn't gain over Thanksgiving though, so that is a plus.
After this race, I'm really really cutting back on running miles and going to spend some more time on strength training and the bike. Really. I'm gonna do it this time. Promise.

This girl needs to turn a new leaf. I don't like the New Years Resolution thing, so maybe I will be inspired by my bday next Monday. (These leaves are harder to turn in your mid-40s!)

I know giving up bread wouldn't hurt me, and would very likely get rid of that last pesky 5-10, but I'm not sure I could do it.

I guess Texas Roadhouse is thinking someone here at the bank may want to add a few pounds. They just dropped off a box of hot rolls and butter.

This girl needs to turn a new leaf. I don't like the New Years Resolution thing, so maybe I will be inspired by my bday next Monday. (These leaves are harder to turn in your mid-40s!) Try doing it in your mid-50's. I have lost 20 lbs in the last year weightlifting...doesn't sound like much, until you hear that I went from 26% body fat to 16% during this same period. So, I estimate I lost an actual 30-35 lbs of fat while adding about 15 lbs or so of muscle, and lost 6 inches in my waist (size 40 to size 34). This only came through a radical change in eating habits (bye-bye carbs, hello protein) and working out 7 straight days a week for at least an hour (most days are actually 1 and a half to two hours. Now that it's a done deal, I would not hesitate to do it again...honestly, it wasn't that hard, although hiring a personal trainer two days a week was another thing that kept me on track.

Giving up breads and pastas at my age is just nuts! I am going out in a blaze of fatty glory!

Pale...I understand that logic. I run my @$$ off and have a hard time depriving myself of foods I love.
I did choose to make flourless cookies for todays graduation celebration. That's better than regular cookies, right?

Great job Yosemite! About 8 years ago (has it been that long!!!) I dropped about 50 lbs and was feeling wonderful. I was so cute, I got myself a man who makes me very happy... and the weight went back on, plus a little more. Oops! I know what I need to do, just need to get off my keister and do it!! Your story is inspiring - thank you!

Good for you Jen! Are those cookies like the no bake oatmeal with chocolate? Now my mouth is watering!
YSIA is the man! Surrounded by all those women I don't know how he finds the time to exercise.

Pale, they taste like a no bake cookie but are different:
1 cup brown sugar 1 cup plus 2 tbs of peanut butter (needs to be cheap oily PB) 1 egg 1 tsp baking soda 1 tbs vanilla 1/2 cup cocoa powder (I use a little less)
Mix everything very well and roll into balls with your hands. If they aren't forming balls, I add a little more PB. I also smush them on the baking sheet with a fork like you do a traditional PB cookie. Bake for 7 minutes at 350 degrees. Let sit on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes before removing. They are very fragile cookies.
The texture is a bit different (like a flourless cake) but they are AMAZING with a strong cup of coffee.

Let me get this straight; these are weight loss cookies because of no flour but there is a full cup of sugar in these cookies?

No sir! I do not make that claim. They do fit the gluten free diet restrictions though. However...with no butter or flour, they do likely have fewer calories than a traditional cookie. I haven't done the math yet.
Last edited by RR Jen; 12/09/15 05:58 PM. Reason: I just did the math...they are about 115 calories per cookie
