We currently keep a very cumbersome log for returned mail. The returned mail gets sent to the branch for handling. What are others doing? Do you log every piece of mail returned because of a bad address? How long do you keep the mail?
I am looking to do away with the log but interested in what others do.

We scan the return envelope to our Image system (referencing that account number) and then destroy it. After two months of returned mail, we switch off statement printing and wait for the customer to contact us. We can then produce the statements needed.
