In the mountains
We discuss whether to issue debit cards to rep payees in this forum, but I’m wondering if others allow rep payees to access accounts via online banking? Can anyone think of any pitfalls for doing so? This would be “view only” access, as there should be only one account. Also, since it’s non-transactional, can the beneficiary be granted the same view-only access to his or her funds? Feedback will be much appreciated.

We let the person who is guarding the funds/legally liable for accounting for the funds to have internet banking and billpay, but not a debit card. The beneficiary of the funds has no access, writing privileges, view only access, or copies of the statements.
