Looking for best, and practical, practices for vendor management of closing attorneys. Many times, the closing attorney is selected by the sellers agent and is someone we have never dealt with before.
So the question is, how far down the full vendor management process do we go, given that we may never have another loan closed by this attorney?
Or is simply a matter of obtaining a copy of the license and E&O insurance?
Is the attorney our vendor at all, or is the attorney a vendor of the selling or closing agent?
