Hello,

I have been asked if there is any legal ramifications in giving the borrower a copy of the DU findings. Is this an issue?

If you can give a little more information, you might get a better answer.

I would never provide a customer with an internal document, the loan was underwritten according to your bank's Loan Policy. You would be opening up a can of issues. The borrower should be provided a promissory note when they were approved or an Adverse Action Notice when the loan request was denied.

I get that but is there any legal reason why we should not provide a copy of the DU?

You'd need to ask a lawyer that question. What is the purpose of giving it to them?
