We have a Commercial Real Estate Loan that has matured and a balloon payment is due.
The borrower is currently active in Italy. I am looking for some guidance on whether his active duty status prevents the Bank from modifying the loan (extending terms).

My instinct tells me he is protected from any action until he becomes non-active.

As far as I am aware, there is no prohibition on extending the term on a matured loan to a service member that is on active duty as long as you continue to honor the 6% limitations.
