We are a bank in Texas and we have customers that live in California. How are other banks planning on adhering to this act?

The first thing you need to do is determine if you qualify for CCPA. You qualify if one of the following three is true:
1) you have 50,000 or more natural person consumers in California,
2) $25 million in revenue (don't know is this just CA revenue or total revenue - hope the Attorney General provide clarification), or
3) 50% of income comes from selling sell information.

If you qualify, then you need to look at your online privacy policy, vendor contracts, data you are collecting and where is it stored and what is the purpose for collecting it, how to respond to information/deletion requests. CCPA does indicate that all information collected under GLBA or CFIPA is exempted, but need Attorney General's guidance to list what information is definitely exempted.

Remember this applies to all data collected, not just data that is collected electronically.
