An entity isn't a notary. However an employee may be a notary. Each state has specific requirements to become a notary. Mine requires passing a test and paying a fee. If someone comes to the bank and asks to have something notarized, the bank isn't notarizing it. I am. My name and seal go on the document. To the best of my knowledge, Massachusetts is the same.
