My processors have been fighting the site for 2 days. Argh! I'm glad the risk for US that we are going to make a loan to a covered borrower is small - but I LIKE having a safe harbor dadgummit and we don't pull credit every loan.

or maybe its just javascript, or my AV, it's always something. I can get in, but my boots on the ground can't.

Our risk is HIGH as we have a lot of military customers. I called the tech support line. It was not helpful. They said it is a known intermittent issue. No workaround or timeframe. I did notice they updated the site on 9/18 and that is when our loan team started having trouble.

I have been told our credit reports are still pulling the MLA check with no problem but that doesn't help our loans we don't pull credit for. I have directed our loan team to keep trying and document that the site is down when we're originating the loan.

Plan B - pull credit.

We happened to have our exam team in the building on Friday. They recommended we provide the disclosure to everyone until the site is repaired. Likely this will only be 4 or 5 borrowers since the loans we don't pull credit for are very uncommon.

Has anyone heard of any updates on the site?

We have been having issues with the MLA website for the past couple of weeks (unable to log in and now it does not accept the SSN). Can we use the SCRA website to do a search for MLA for the safe harbor?

Thanks,

No. The individuals covered are not the same.

In theory they are servicemembers, but you also have dependents on the MLA side. I asked the DMDC this specific question once and it was an unequivocal "No," do not use the SCRA for MLA checks or visa versa.

We are still having issues with the MLA website. This is very frustrating.

Yesterday when I tried to log in a got a "password expired" message. I attempted to change my password and the site froze. I created a new account using my same bank email address and was able to fully access the site.

We spoke to the non-help line yesterday and were told that users that open the site in Internet Explorer are going to have issues. They suggested using Google Chrome for their site.

Downside to this is not all our vendors/sites are functional in Google Chrome yet so our frontline staff are not happy that they have to use different browser...

We were told that they plan to have it corrected by January 1, 2020...
