My ex's grandmother used to make this 7 layer apricot tort that was one of the tastiest holiday treats ever. Trying to get the recipe off of her now. I also really like those Hungarian raspberry and/or apricot Kolaches cookies.

For Thanksgiving I always bake my husband an apple/pecan pie. At Christmas I usually make some rolled cookies that are frosted for a cookie swap. Hardly anyone makes them any more so they're usually a hit.
As for me, it makes my day if someone makes homemade chocolate-covered peanut butter balls!

Or, you can make 2 layers and cut them in half horizontally, after they have cooled.

When I was young, my mom used to make something called "Divinity" and yes it was divine! Now that I'm grown I realize it was so good because it is basically liquid sugar with some vanilla that's been whipped with egg whites and allowed to cool and congeal into a fluffy piece of vanilla fudge-like candy. But oh so good.

Thanks Rocky and DQ. I looked that up, but it didn't have a picture so I wasn't exactly sure that was it, but I found another page that showed something with the same name that looked similar. I think the 7 layer thing was maybe a derivative of that recipe, with a couple layers of crushed walnuts, filo dough, and apricot, with an icing on top. If I am able to secure the recipe, I'll post it up.

Eggnog Pumpkin Pie My mother's turkey dressing - not sure if that counts as a "treat," but I look forward to that more than anything else!

My grandmother makes an awesome pumpkin pie. She then takes the leftover dough from the crust (yes, the pie crust is home made) and makes miniature cinnamon rolls about the diameter of a silver dollar and a half-inch thick. They're slightly crispy/flaky and slightly chewy at the same time. MMMM...

Deviled Eggs. My husband went hunting Thanksgiving Day. I was craving some of my Momma's Deviled Eggs so I made just a few for the second time ever. By the time he got home after dark all the Deviled Eggs were gone. Pfftt. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. No evidence.

Just to be sure, your sweetie does not look at BOL? If so, you may be trying to replicate the recipe for the 3rd time.
