Hello,

I am just wondering how others schedule employee evaluations/reviews. Is this quarterly, annually, random?

Also, is it different for salary vs. hourly?

Thanks,

Ours are annual, used to be year end but now it's 1st Q so those that have goals tied to #'s, we have a full year of those #'s in order to determine goal attainment. That being said, most of us here in my shop hold monthly or quarterly update meetings with our team members to discuss goals, issues, obstacles, etc so that nothing comes as a surprise at review time.

I was just wondering because I have been in my new position a year and a half and have not received any evaluation. Everyone else got theirs in January. I thought maybe they were waiting for my year mark on my new position but maybe not. Supervisors, does it look bad when an employee asks for an evaluation? I am just curious how they think I am adjusting and don't know if it's appropriate to flat out ask for an eval...

Me personally? I would, I think it shows initiative and a drive to improve if there are areas management thinks could be worked on. smile

The only thing I am afraid of is that it would be taken as I am asking for a raise since raises are typically given with our evaluations. But maybe that wouldn't even be a bad thing either, I'm not sure. I just haven't ever had to do either!

I started here in August and our review period is in November - and yes, I will get one. Now, don't think there will be any financial change; however I do have to go through the process.

ours are done in Q1, normally by end of February, with merit increases coming in April. any associate hired before July in the prior year is eligible for merit, if hired July or later, it is a LOB decision based on associate. and the merit would be pro-rated based on how many months worked

I would probably just phrase it that you're looking for suggestions on ways to improve and enhance your performance. Secondly,to ensure that your work met the department's goals and expectations.

Officers are at year end, and non-officers are based on hire date. Employee bonuses are generally paid out in December and officers are paid out in January after year end numbers are in.
