For business checking accounts - sole prop using SSN..... report charged off account to bureaus or no? Are business accounts excluded based on not being "consumer" or would the use of a SSN change that exclusion?

Who are you reporting it too and what are their rules for reporting to them.

My understanding is it'd be a business decision... in the past we have reported any loan under a consumer SSN (including your example). We recently made the decision not to report on any business account types, regardless of whether they're in the personal name/ssn. If you report one that fits your example you report all of them that fit that example.

Did you report this account prior to the charge-off?

I would think you would not report this then either- otherwise you're essentially only reporting negative information on the borrower. While yes, it's accurate at the time of reporting, the consumer harm it would cause seems like it could put up some red flags for examiners. IMO if you don't report, you don't report good or bad; likewise if you're reporting, you report the good and the bad- not selectively.
