We just received an email from a vendor stating that the IRS has stopped processing 4506-T orders.
Attention: The IRS is no longer accepting new 4506-T requests for tax returns
Effective immediately, all 4506-T orders received will not be processed by the IRS as it adjusts to the impact of state and local shelter in place orders issued due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Please know all 4506-T requests received will be temporarily held in a queue until the IRS lifts the suspension.
Temporarily, and at your discretion, you can advise your borrowers to download their tax transcripts and submit them directly to you. Simply send them to
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript and ask them to follow the online request instructions.
