Our mortgage division currently merged under our bank and we have our Assumed Name certificate from the state of TX. In NMLS all of our LO's are listed under just the Bank NMLS. NMLS has advised in order to add our DBA so it will be recognized by our compliance system that we must first update the NIC database. The exact wording provided was:

When requesting Federal Registry filing authority, ensure all company information, such as legal name, address, RSSD ID, etc. match the National Information Center Database. We are a State Bank regulated by FDIC but our mortgage operations are a Division of our bank. Our compliance software is only giving a warning as our DBA name isn't matching up with the bank NMLS. I believe our LO's need to update their NMLS on the MU4 to make the association to the bank. We've been told by compliance that we do not need to update the NIC. Will completion of the MU4 be sufficient?
