Supreme Court Rules large half of Oklahoma reservation This may have an interesting impact for banking in Oklahoma.

How so, unless you are convicted in an OK State court? I already read that decision. The application is limited to the application of the Major Crimes Act.

I would probably disagree. It original focus was on crimes, but as the descending opinion states it destabilizes the state's powers in eastern Oklahoma. “The decision today creates significant uncertainty for the State’s continuing authority over any area that touches Indian affairs, ranging from zoning and taxation to family and environmental law.” Forgive me, but collection efforts come to mind.

Could be, but the courts would have to sort it all out or the State and the tribes. Just goes to show that it pays to actually honor past Congressional agreements.

I don't envy any of the banks in that area as it's sorted out. I'm guessing the legal/tribal court systems will become a lot busier as everything is ironed out.
