Are lenders (when processing a secured or unsecured credit application in a community property state like WI) required to consider a non-borrowing spouse's income when calculating a debt-to-income ratio? Or, is it acceptable for the lender's policy to not consider the non-borrowing spouse's income in WI when determining if a married individual qualifies for approval?

Thanks!

Income in Wisconsin is community property and either spouse can pledge that property. Not sure how you can arbitrarily say no.
