You are here
Humm must be that the political system behind the polls do not want me to respond because i was going to respond "X" and cause other pollsters to vote "Y"

Perhaps we should try mail in.

I watched, and it just made me sad. Sad that I'm numb to this level of vitriol. Sad that as a country we can't have a civilized conversation with someone we disagree with. Sad that these are the only two viable options.

^^^^That plus sadness that most believe there are only 2 viable options. Third Party advocacy must gain traction for true change to ever happen at this point in time I am afraid.

If you have studied the Civil War, and the events that led up to the Civil War, you know that increasingly, the country on both sides (North and South, free state and slave state) became more and more radicalized and less and less willing to even listen to anything but what they wanted to hear. I hate to say it....but today's America is eerily the same.

Sad that they don't think the American people deserve better in a debate. At least they don't believe it enough to have some self-control for an hour and a half.

All of this talk about them acting like children; who ever said that a politician was supposed to be some admirable character? They all cheat and lie to some extent, the real question should be who gets the job done that better benefits the country and which one supports your issues.

I'd argue that we've never had some morally upright President, ever. People want their kids to be able to "look up to" the President. Stop it. Look up to your Pastor and worship leaders for character, not a politician. Likewise, look up to your President for the job they get done (ugly as the process might be) for the benefit of the country.

Plenty of pastors whipping people up into a political frenzy on social media too. At least on my social media.

And i have never and would never tell my kid (who is now an adult) to "look up to" the President. It would be nice if they didn't have to plug their ears though.

While I agree the president doesn't have to be a saint, moral character has a huge influence on national and international affairs. The president is the face of the nation. If he or she has no credibility, they can't effective lead the whole country, especially through difficult times when trust in the government is crucial.

I watched it. If I was an undecided voter, it would not have helped me decide who to vote for!

Nope. Didn't watch. Won't watch the next or any of them, for that matter. No thank you.

I would argue that we should not have our kids look up to any person, regardless of role in society. We should encourage our children to emulate certain characteristics like kindness, meekness, humility, work ethic, respect, civility, etc. The best way to do that is for we parents to be examples of each of those characteristics every day for our kids. We will fall short many times of course but we are human, and can use those times as teaching moments.

This. False idols are never good. Teach your children to be good people that make a contribution to society by displaying all the characteristics mentioned above and hopefully this world will be a better place.

I watched it. It reminded me of some of the Zoom meetings that we have all been a part of over the past 7 months. Everyone talking at once, what you could hear made no sense, one participant's Wi-Fi kept cutting out, one person thought they were on mute but they weren't, one was on mute but didn't know it, and there was one person trying to reign everyone in but no one paid any attention to them. I guess we are lucky that they were all wearing pants.
