Does anyone offer paid maternity leave for employees, other than them using their accrued leave? Do you require accrued paid days to be used when someone under FMLA is off following the birth of a child or give them the option for off without pay? Thanks for your time!

We offer short term disability for maternity leave - which pays a portion of the person's salary. They may also choose to use leave accruals, or just take leave with no pay.

You are here
NYS has their own requirements In addition to FMLA.

https://paidfamilyleave.ny.gov/

So you may be judging this by different standards,

What you decide make sure that it is also compliant with State and local laws

Has anyone ever questioned the differences in the paid leave for maternity and paternity?

RBG would have. laugh

I think it has something to do with recovering from delivery, which a father would not have to do.
